Head of Product

We are seeking a strategic product and technical leader with a passion for 1) representing the Underdog, 2) consumer products and, 3) a deep understanding of development tools and processes. They will be well experienced in product strategy that is tied to deploying monetization products and reaching revenue targets.

The Head of Product will need strong leadership, a hands-on style, and strong EQ coupled with a depth of engineering experience. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused individual that can articulate a clear vision and strategy for implementing industry best practices and leading innovations.

Product Leadership

  • Develops Handsome’s product line vision and strategy with the Chief Executive Officer
  • Should have excellent Personal Management, Product Leadership, Project Management and Strategy skills
  • Evangelizes product goals, initiatives, and progress to the organization and key stakeholders
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure the success of products
  • Establish a balance of entrepreneurial spontaneity and innovation with the need to deliver high quality products on time and within budget

Product Performance Execution

  • Identifies, defines and deploys product opportunities to hit Key Performance Indicators (KPI)s in revenue and growth.
  • Iterates products and features continuously using data and insights.
  • Measures impact of product enhancements and initiatives. Continuously optimizes product performance over time.
  • Develops a testing program plans that incorporates interdependencies between functional areas.
  • Establishes playbooks and systems to drive process and consistent outcomes for repeated tasks.
  • Proactively mitigates risk by identifying and controlling internal and external risk factors.
  • Conducts market research for monetization expansion into new product lines.
  • Create strong product practices, standards, metrics and processes for product deployment to ensure quality and performance standards are met and that lead to fast iterative development.
  • Ensure world-class delivery by maintaining discipline around release cycles and internal product development processes.

Engineering Strategy

  • Oversee the Engineering Manager in leading the software development of consumer-focused engineering teams across mobile, desktop, web, and cross-platform technologies.
  • Leading team to execute relentlessly toward goals, fast-paced deployments, and innovation.
  • Guide decisions on technical architecture and strategy to ensure high levels of software scalability, performance, and quality while balancing speed to market.
  • Develop a point of view on key technical issues and articulate vision in ways that will be highly valued by the company and technology community.
  • Champion a “test and learn” culture, where innovation and iteration is a central part of the overall technical strategy to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Partner with Design, Partnerships & Marketing to ensure effective and scalable execution of new features.


  • Product Strategy: Experience as a strategic product leader (Product Owner, Product Manager + Head of Product experience) building processes, managing product & engineering, in order to hit KPIs and revenue targets.
  • Engineering Expertise: Knowledge of critical technology functions, experience managing and leading full project and team management of engineering, design, development, scaling, and supporting applications across desktop, mobile, web and cross-platform technologies.
  • B2C Domain Experience: Experience developing and working with leading consumer-facing technology products, ideally in a consumer mobile app, marketplace, ed tech or subscription-based business.
  • High Growth environment: Experience operating in dynamic, high-growth and entrepreneurial environments; demonstrated experience transforming and scaling consumer product offerings.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability in building and scaling a highly cohesive and customer-oriented product + engineering team, with a track record of hiring and retaining top talent.
